I Cannot Resist A Cute Adventure Pack On The Minecraft Marketplace

I am always on the lookout for cute games and Lily's Island caught my eye on the minecraft marketplace.

At the time of writing Lily's Island by Humblebright Studios had a rating of 4 stars on the minecraft marketplace.

I watched the trailer and fell in love immediately and purchased the adventure pack for 1340 minecoins.

This is a resource management and simulation type of game where you take on quests to gather resources by searching, fishing, farming and mining.  The quests and resource gathering earns you points so you can use them to upgrade areas including your home.  Gradually the island becomes more alive and visually appealing which encourages new NPC critters to stay.

This adventure map is single player and I can understand why as it took me only 3 hours to complete.  For the amount of minecoins I paid there should have been more quests but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

When you start the adventure map sign posts indicate to set the PC render distance to 24 so you can get the best experience.  I am fortunate to own a gaming pc with minecraft windows 10 edition and had no issues with lag.  To be honest these settings should have been highlighted in the marketplace description as not everyones pc or laptop  can handle that.  This long render distance allows you to see the beautiful mountains surrounding the island.  They are worth a look if your pc/laptop can handle it.

Visually the colours are vibrant. Great detail has been put into the furniture pieces, crops, resources and NPCs.  This pack sure has cuteness overload.  I am so impressed that I wish the base game looked like this - especially the furniture and diamonds.

To top it all this adventure map has 5 custom chill soundtracks which is a big bonus.  I really enjoyed listening to them all and felt drawn into the adventure pack even more.

I was slightly disappointed that this adventure map did not include a skin for this high price.

There was not a lot of reading in this game so you only got to know each NPC's personality a little.  I would have liked to know more about them as they are too darn cute to be left unoticed.

This game starts at a slow pace. A bit grindy in the beginning but once you upgrade and open new parts on the island you will sail through it in a short time.

I enjoyed meeting all of the adorable 16 NPCs.  I am pleased they made all the squirrels, owls etc not look the same.  They all had their own unique character and style.  I fell in love with them all.

The hidden secrets and challenges were only a few but well thought out.  Took me quite a while to find the lobster and ghost.  I would have liked more of these secrets and challenges as they were fun to do and it would have extended the gameplay to match the price value.

On completing the game you had the freedom to explore the island.  I thought this meant the map would unlock so I could go exploring across the water and into those beautiful mountains so I could survive and build my own house but no.  I would have really liked that experience as this is such a wonderful cute map to continue playing on.

I would have also liked to keep the tamed lobster at the end of the game so it could explore the island with me.

I also had items remaining in my inventory at the end of my game from searching in barrels that I could not use or place.  Workbenches you could interact with throughout the island and recipes for brown items like glass panels etc were shown but you could not make them as you did not have any of these resources, why?  I did not see the point of that.

I gave Lily's Island a 5 out of 5 star rating because I love the cute visuals, music and storyline.  I would have liked more for my money though - extra quests, hidden secrets and challenges as well as a skin.  The game was short lived but I enjoyed my adventure.  I will play it again in the near future for sure.  I do recommend it to add to your adventure map collection if you like cute things like me.
